KD Story
Pushcart Adelaide (we call her Adele) is a caddy from an upper-scale supermarket in the region of Brussels. Raymond is a caddy from a more popular chain store.
They have little to say but express their thoughts through sound, music (becoming instruments in the process), and songs, thanks to their musical handlers.
One day they find themselves abandoned next to each other and against all odds discover affinities that quickly bloom into passion. Unfortunately they are eventually separated and returned to their respective places of employment. But nothing is as it was before, and Raymond and Adele ceaselessly attempt to meet once more.
Meanwhile, “normal” life continues in the supermarkets. Scenes involving the caddies are interspersed with others involving humans, and are observed with anthropological humor.
The story depicts the coming together of two character-objects, their ensuing love, illusions, and tribulations, but it is also a gleeful pretext to view the world of supermarkets as a surreal and “ethno-phonic” reflection of our daily lives.
